Artists StatementThis painting off the Ryton river that feeds of Lake Coleridge was one of my early pieces that I was commissioned to paint. When I was asked to do this painting, I couldn't resist.I chose to paint this scene because of the nor-west sky, snow capped mountains and crystal deep blue water - all typical of inland Canterbury. The best thing about painting this is just being there, being able to study the light and how it changed until sunset.
The scenery all around me was wonderful and it was hard to choose what to paint.
