Artist statementRapaki is a small Maori settlement in Banks peninsula just over the Port Hills from the city of Christchurch. The jetty was built to honour the local men who fought and died at Gallipoli in WW1. This painting was brought by a well known New Zealand author at a recent charity auction. |
